    Eligibility for the Ireland Critical Skills Employment Permit

    To qualify for the permit, applicants must meet specific criteria:

    1. Job Offer: Applicants must have a job offer from an Irish employer registered with both Revenue and the Companies Registration Office.
    2. Field of Work: The offered position must be listed on the Critical Skills Occupation List.
    3. Full-Time Position: Employment must be full-time, with a contract length of at least two years.
    4. Salary Requirements:
      • €38,000 per year for roles on the Critical Skills Occupation List.
      • €64,000 per year for roles not on the Critical Skills Occupation List but also not listed on the ineligible occupations list.
    5. Qualifications and Experience: The applicant must meet all qualifications and experience requirements specified for the role.

    Note: Jobs through recruitment agencies are not eligible for this permit.

     

    Application Process for the Ireland Critical Skills Employment Permit

    Step 1: Apply for the Permit

    • Applications can be submitted online via the Employment Permits Online System (EPOS). Both employees and employers can submit applications. Refer to the EPOS User Guide for help.

    Step 2: Apply for the Long-Stay Type D Visa

    • Once the permit is approved, apply for a long-stay Type D visa (if required) through the Irish Immigration Service. The visa application form is available on the official website.

    Step 3: Register for a Residence Permit

    • Upon arrival in Ireland, register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) to receive your residence permit.
